Salvation
What is salvation? What does it mean?

We are created with a temporary body (as we all well know).  It's fragile, gets older and   eventually dies. We also have a soul but it is immortal and never dies.  Once our temporary body dies, our soul must go somewhere.  Where does it go?

There are only two eternal places described in the Bible.  One is called heaven.  In human terms it's a place of indescribable beauty and peace.  The other destination is called hell.  It is a place of unspeakable horror and misery.

Heaven is where God dwells and is completely sin free.  God, with His nature, can not reside with sin.  Therefore, no one tainted by sin can enter into heaven.  By default we all are bound for an eternal hell and are lost because we all have   sinned at some time in our lives.

God, because of His great love, grace and mercy, provided a way for our sins to be erased.  He sent his sinless Son , Jesus Christ, to pay for the sins we committed.  Giving His life willingly, anyone who receives Him as their Lord and Savior   will be saved for an eternity in heaven.  It is only through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we can be saved.  Salvation is through faith alone,  by grace alone and in Christ alone.  Once we are saved, Christ dwells within us and our lives are changed.  We have a new spirit and a new outlook on life as we fellowship with Christ.

If you want to be saved, talk to God in   prayer .  You can say something like this:

“Dear God, I am a sinner and know that I'm lost and there is no way for me to save myself.  I now ask you to save me through the shed blood of Jesus Christ Your Son.  I give my life to Him as my Savior and Lord.”

If you prayed that prayer or one similar and believe… then you are saved!

Following are verses found in the Bible that document what is written above.

You need to find a good Bible believing, God honoring church to be nurtured along life's path.  Enjoy the best that God has to offer on earth as a prelude to the experience in heaven.
